FAQ
Seeking answers about Counselling and Psychotherapy?
Explore Clarity Corner where you can find the answers to some of the frequently asked questions
1. What is counselling?
Counselling is a professional service where I help you explore and understand your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It provides a safe, confidential space to discuss issues, work through challenges, and develop strategies for personal growth and emotional well-being.
2. What happens in the first meeting?
The first meeting is slightly different to the subsequent sessions as it is the opportunity to get to know each other. I will ask you how you are feeling and what brought you to therapy, and discuss the issues you would like to explore, so that I can be by your side while you work through them. In the first session, we will go through the contract, and you can ask any questions regarding your therapy and how therapy works. It is important to understand that therapy is not a quick fix; it might take some time to identify and understand your thoughts and feelings and to empower yourself to make changes to improve your mental health and the quality of your life.
3. Counselling vs Psychotherapy:
Counselling and psychotherapy are both talking therapies- counselling tends to be shorter term where you are supported to work through challenges in your life with your skills set, whereas psychotherapy tends to take longer as the problems you are having might have originated from childhood and need more time to explore them. I am trained in the Pluralistic/ Integrative approach and can provide psychotherapeutic counselling tailoring it to my clients' needs.
4. How do I book a session?
Via email or phone and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
5. What is the cost?
The cost of a 60 minute counselling session is £50.
